This night was pure enjoyment! Just look at our faces! CHEESE! Lol! Pictured above is our first official Socially It girl Laure’n (make up artist and model), then me (Socially It part owner, CEO, part creator, bla bla … whatever you want to call it), then DJ ILL WILL … I calll him izzle wizzle (he doesnt know that), but he will after reading this blog (heh). Then next to Will with the cool blond hair on top is Ricky Rocks tha drum killa (oh boy does he)! Below Ricky is the beautiful and talented Lainie, (and the other half to Socially It), and last but not least … the man of the show … the main attraction … YOUNG KENOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

So a few days to a week prior to this event I received a text from Young Keno to come on out and peep his show. I was very excited, because since the first time meeting him at Ivar not too long ago, I had wanted to check him out live. It also makes for a great follow up on him, since I have spoken about him before (click HERE for that blog). To recap about Young Keno he had the #1independent record this year and was the only independent artist who made top 30 on Power 106’s official play list. This year Young Keno put out a song called, “Lets Get Together” featuring Roscoe Umali and Sharis. That record was followed by a remix featuring Wiz Khalifa of Warner Brothers Records and Omar Cruz who is a Latino rapper from Interscope Records.

Young Keno has a street single titled, “Tattoo’s & Jewelry”. It has already been released. It’s from his fore coming mixed tape titled “The Stakes is High” 300 edition. This track features Hot Dollar and Gorilla Black. Young Keno being known for radio records felt it was necessary to do this project to show the diversity that he has. “Tattoos & Jewelry” reached over 100,000 plays in two weeks. After “Tattoos & Jewelry” he followed up with another record off of the project titled “Lonely at the Top” featuring SRC’s artist Topic. This song was more of a personal record for Keno being that he has been dealing with success and as a result of success he is finding out who his true friends are.

As of last Thursday Keno leaked his 3rd song off of his project titled “The Things You Do”, which features 2008 – 8 time Grammy Nominee Lil Wayne and Murder Inc. crooner Lloyd! Within two days this song had 180,000 downloads as well as multiple write ups all over the internet. “The Things You Do” is off of Young Keno’s album “This Is Not A Game”, which is expected to drop sometime in 2009. As you can see Young Keno has been a very busy man and Socially It is very pleased and honored to be friends and affiliated with some one like Young Keno. He truly is cool people yall!

Now … let me tell yall about Ricky Rocks. He is this insane drum player. This was Socially Its first time seeing Ricky Rocks (or even hearing about him). We are so glad we did. Before (and after) Keno went on Ricky Rocks played his drum set along with the music that DJ Rampage was spinning on the 1’s and 2’s. Does this sound odd to you? Perhaps, but let me tell you first hand that it mos def was not, and also how refreshing and tight as all heyall it was! EVERYONE was gettin down and giving him props! Whose ever idea that was should be praised. I never would have thought that a drum player and hip hop music in a club would go together. It heightened the night to the fullest! If you have never experienced this you should. Ricky’s drum playing just added so much more soul and pleasure into the night. It’s funny because when we first got in there, a few of us were clowning like oh who’s drum set is that! LOL! We had no idea what we were in for. I even made a joke to Keno and was like oh you play the drums while you rap? LOL!

Socially It and the Socially It girls had the best seats in the house (of course). Our camp and Keno’s camp relaxed most of the night in VIP.

Another highlight of the night was when a few of us shouted out Keno and of course Socially It on video (www.thespizzle.com). Socially It and Rampage actually go waaaaay back! He’s been friends with Lainie longer than me though. I met Rampage through Lainie. He’s cool peeps too. Bias was in the house too yall. Bias is the one who introduced us to Keno and ILL WILL a couple months ago. Bias did not perform, but he came on stage and introduced Keno. Of course a special shot out to Bias and Keno for showing Socially It love on the mic!
