A Night @ Club Element!

Awe, don’t we look purtay? Hee hee! That’s my girls! Hello and welcome to yet another blog from me (Anita) of Socially It. We threw a little event at club Element Friday 12/05/08. We also had a mini photo shoot by Ethan Chang! U should know us all by now. From left to right there’s Amee (Socially It girl), Lainie and Anita (Socially It), then Jennifer, Nyna, and Laure’n (also Socially It girls). Now … let me tell yall about Element. It was our first time being at this venue.

Lainie and I arrived early. Since we were throwing an event there, we needed to make sure things were squared away with the people we were working with. All seemed good when we first arrived. Element was having an open vodka bar from 10pm til 11pm. The deal with entry was that ladies were free before 11pm and guys free til 10:30pm. The homie DJ Dash came out with us this night and he arrived about 9:30, but probably got in line about 9:45pm. To get to the point they did not even let him in until after 10:30pm and tried to make him pay a dub. I had to go out to make sure he was taken care of (and he was). The club did not even let anyone in the club until after 10:30. What kind of bullshit is that? They advertised an open bar from 10-11 and didn’t even let peeps in til after 1030. SHADY!

So the night started to begin (after 10:30) and more problems started to arise. People were saying that security were assholes outside. Lainie and I were both surprised, because when we arrived they were so cool and things seemed like they were going to work out fine. One of our Socially It girls was given a hard time, then our photographer (Ethan) was given a hard time. I had to do some damage control and get them in, because this one guy we were working with decided to go MIA somewhere. This was definitely not a good first impression of the place or the people we were working with (whose names I will not mention), only because on that aspect of it, we are still business women and do not feel the need to publicly drag some ones name through the mud. They know who they are though. Oh but the MIA anonymous guy, well he did help out like once. OOOH! Ha ha! Too bad tho, because when we first arrived he seemed so damn cool then he fell off. On a positive note, his partner came through for us later in the night. He was trying to fix any problems that had come about, which we appreciate to the fullest.

Note: A lot of you readers may recognize the name Ethan Chang. He was doing Foto Phashion. His company name will be changing soon. We will keep you posted, however by clicking his name you can contact him via Myspace if need be. Also, there may not be anymore photos to view on the Foto Phashion site (if you decide to go there). I am pretty sure he took them all down.

Moving on … so if you paid attention to the flier for this event you may know that Bias was going to perform this night. Come time 11pm he had not arrived yet. Between dancing and drinks, Ethan shot many photos of us inside Element for our in the action photo shoot (although we did pose a lot too).

So like just when I thought things could not get any worse they did. Quite a few guests who were arriving for Socially It were having trouble at the door. A lot of people did not even get in (we were getting texts). At this point I was fed up. We all decided to just shake the spot and go somewhere else. When we were outside the club and walking towards our cars is when we saw our friend Bias (Universal recording artist), who was to perform this night. He (of course) did not want us to leave. We ended up staying. I mean we threw the event there, because he was performing (and he is a friend). Also … Bias was leaving town the next day for like a month, so it was also like a going away party too.

We all got back in with no problem. Bias was rollin deep that night too. Ricky Rocks was with him as well. I did a blog that talked all about Ricky and his awesome drum skills! We saw Ricky play @ Ivar the night Young Keno performed (11/28/08)! Click HERE for that blog!

When we got back inside we decided to just let loose and have fun and that is exactly what we did. From there the night looked up tremendously. More dancing, more drinks, and more fun! There was so many of us girls! We had myself, Lainie, Laure’n, Nyna, Amee, Jennifer, Michelle, Michelle’s cousin April (now a friend of ours), Nyna’s good friend Kat, oh and a friend of Michelle’s. My bad for not knowing her name. She was mad cool though. She also wore the colors that we all decided to wear this night (red and black … as you can see).

Check out Nyna’s sexy ass!

At Element when some one is performing, they have VIP up on the stage, but behind where the artist is performing. That is where we were during Bias’s performance. Well actually we were up in front (opposite side of stage than Bias). We were all dancing and just having a good ole time. People who did not know us were probably like who the fuck are those bitches! LMFAO! There were 2 go go dancers up on the little boxes too. We werent on the boxes though. Ugh uh. Just on the stage reppin Socially It. Thank you to Bias for shotin us out once again on the mic. Anytime we are out with Bias and he has the mic he always shots us out.

After Element we all went to go eat at Denny’s. Of course Denny’s in Hollywood after the clubs have let out is crackin. We had a huge table and were even joined by a long time friend of ours Page Kennedy. If you do not know who Page is check him out. He has done a couple commercials and quite a few movies like S.W.A.T. (to name one) and was even in the show Desperate House Wives starring Eva Longoria and many other actresses.

  1. You know, I haven’t had any events at those type of Hollywood clubs yet because of how they tend to treat folks.

I would NOT have expected for things to have been that shady though, so I’m glad you blogged about it. now when I DO throw my events in Hollywood next year, I’ll know which issues to iron out from the jump.

Hot, intelligent, fun, informative women. What more could one ask for?
