I was so excited to do this interview with Vape$ regarding Tattoo Connection Magazine! I did an interview earlier with him as a member of OC*OD and this is one motivated dude! His skills in marketing and promoting are genious! Always on the grind, pushing his way to the top, making moves, and staying in the streets to make ends meet. He reminds me a lot of myself, HAHA. As co-owner of Tattoo Connection Magazine and a core member of OC*OD, I have no doubt that this dude will have his name and face all over the place sometime real soon! Ms. Nyna: How did this magazine transpire?

Vape$: So, one day I met Jeff the man who brought this idea to my attention. He had worked for many different magazines and had a lot of experience in the industry, but never had one like this of his own. He wanted to take the knowledge he gained over the years and put something together that would be his “baby.” Having been into the music industry and tattoos since 2000, it was a perfect fit. Between Jeff and I we had a vision that was running over and over in our heads and we had to bring it to life.

Ms. Nyna: What does Tattoo Connection Magazine feature? What is it that you’re looking for?

Vape$: We are open to it all. We have no set boundaries. As a team we set out every month to make a good magazine period. We feature bands, musicians, entertainers, events, and locals that have ink who represent the culture! We stay in the streets and get what’s hot … something for everyone to read or look at. As far as what we’re looking for, hmmm … Lots of hotties with bodies that wanna show off their ink!!! HAHA we’re looking for everything and anything interesting pretty much.

Ms. Nyna: Who can be featured?

Vape$: Anyone has the chance to be featured. We do not just cater to the mainstream or the underground … we love it all, and we don’t just want celebs … we want locals. We don’t just hook people up because they’re our friends or what have you. If you’re making noise or you seem interesting to us, we’ll feature you. We just go with the gut. But you can definitely contact us with whatcha got and we’ll check it out. If you make it in, you make it in. We stay online and in the streets looking for all kinds of stuff to throw into the magazine. We’re very open. So to all those out there … get at us if you have something to say, have a great pic, story, or if you’re looking to advertise your business or what not.

Ms. Nyna: What is your goal with Tattoo Connection Magazine?

Vape$: Our goal is to be the “Rolling Stone” of the tattoo industry, connecting music, ink, and entertainment. We’ve set out to be a life style type magazine that connects the culture. We’re looking to expand all throughout California and then out to Vegas, and to Seattle in the future. We want to be everywhere, someday! Watch out for the Tattoo Connection Reality Show!!! It will have us in the office getting the mag ready, live interviews, concerts, and girls, girls, and more girls!!! HAHA. We’ll be taking over!!!

Ms. Nyna: What can the peole expect from Tattoo Connection?

Vape$: Nothing but the best! We strive for greatness. You can expect a magazine dedicated to connecting the people with tattoo shops in their local area and show casing the tattoo culture and lifestyle of the West Coast! Ya diggy dig?

Ms. Nyna: Where can you be found?

Vape$: We pride ourselves in being all over from LA to OC to the IE. We want to expand. We’re going out to Vegas and San Diego and will eventually own the West Coast. You can find us in places like coffee shops, smoke shops, bars, custom shops, and colleges. Basically anywhere we’re accepted. We have over 150 locations now and they keep growing. Before you know it, you won’t be able to get away from it. But remember one thing … It’s FREE! Everyone loves the word FREE!
