We recently went out to review my good friend and talented artist Convinced at the 2nd Street Jazz Cafe, in Downtown Los Angeles. Now, I have known this pet-able, smooth skin faced sweetie for years now, but had never seen him perform live before this night. I am not surprised that he rocked the crowd … I knew he would! He made sure we were all hype. Convinced has an aura about him that demands attention. Before he went on stage there was a producer battle going on. This was the first beat battle I have ever attended, and it was pretty dope. I would love to attend another. J-Trax … baby you f**ked it up man!! Loving it! Convinced just so happens to be produced by Mr. J-Trax … what a great combo!

Anita went to the show with me. Socially “It” girl Michelle and her cousin April met us up there. While we were listening to the previous artists, I turned around and saw by boy E. I haven’t seen him in about a year, so that was a nice surprise. Hip-Hopers unite! Lol!

Before Convinced went on stage I made sure we pulled him outside to snap a few picturess with him. Especially because Anita and the girls were leaving to go to Republic where London Moore was hosting a fashion show.

As soon as Convinced stepped on stage the energy in the room changed I swear. The crowd was very excited and I was too. E dragged me to the front with him as I kicked my way through people with this lame walking cast on my leg. Convinced has a nice easy voice to hear and he speaks clearly so you can follow the lyrics and it sounds really good. Ladies you will love “Miss Memory.” It’s about a love once found, but now just a memory. Convinced is a very smart man, he caters to the ladies and the dudes will follow … holla!!

Convinced grabbed two mics and started showing out. Two mics in hand and ripping the stage, then all of a sudden … NO POWER! The short power surge did not stop our boy! He came off the head with some fire! The freestyle kid! His stage presence is top notch! He knew what he was doing and had the confidence to pull it off.

He finished his set with “Shots pop off”. I hadn’t heard this one before, wtf? I am loving it. It is a get up and dance song with blazin beats. He kept yelling to meet him at the bar for shots after. What a great way to end a show yes sir! I wanted to meet him at the bar for a shot after that one, but I had to bounce, or limp my ass outta there should I say. Convinced is no joke. Someone you gotta keep both eyes open for. He has the look, the presence, the lyrics, and J-Trax banging the beats behind him. Much love babies, can’t wait for the next show!!!
