DJ Flatline …

Introducing DJ Flatline! EAST COAST BABY! I ran into DJ Flatline on Twitter. I was just twitting along and we started chopping it up here and there. I soon asked if I could do a feature on him, because we just love to expose new people that are on their grind in this wild industry. DJ Flatline is really doing his thing so make sure to check him out and keep up with him.

A quick lil bio from DJ Flatline about himself:
I was raised in Freeport, N.Y. I Started off doing music when I was around 12 or 13 yrs old just freestyling. Then around 16 yrs old I got more serious. I started recording songs and after I started recording songs I wanted to do more with music, so I started directing videos and teaching my self how to use all of the recording equipment. I stopped rapping and focused on directing and DJ’ing, and playing more of a manager role when I linked up with the group S.T.S. (Survive through Struggles). Me being a DJ is my job to keep all my listeners happy, so I try my best to put out good music as well as mixtapes. I’m currently working on several mixtapes and also putting together an album. This album should be coming out at the end of the year.

Lainie: If you could DJ anywhere, where would it be?

Lainie: How long have you been spinning?
DJ Flatline: I Have been Spinning for about 1 1/2 yrs doing mostly mixtapes and online radio, but before I was a DJ I was an artist and producer.

Lainie: We already know about the DJ scene here on the West, fill us in on the East.
DJ Flatline: The DJ Scene is pretty much the same. You have your mixture of South, Midwest, and West Coast! Me being an East Coast DJ, I try to play all types of music. When it comes to mixtapes the East Coast has its style of freestyling over a variety of different beats to draw in certain crowds.

Lainie: What will be the next big thing in music?
DJ Flatline: The next big thing in music is downloading (digital downloading). The internet plays a big role in music now, from Hip Hop, to R&B, to Rock N Roll.

Lainie: Do you have an all time favorite record and why?
DJ Flatline: I like a lot of records. It’s kinda hard for me to narrow it down to just one, but if I could pick one song it would be Nas ft Lauren Hill, “If I Ruled the World”. That song pretty much speaks for itself. Nas was just talkin bout how he would run things and how things would be if he was running things.
