Gang Initiation at Wal-Mart

The rumors spreading across the nation about a gang initiation involving the killing of people at a Wal-Mart store are a hoax that’s been circulating since 2005; Local law enforcement officials said Wednesday.
“We take any threat seriously obviously,” Martin County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Rhonda Irons said. But Irons said the rumor is so common it’s actually posted on the Internet at snopes.com; a web site that debunks rumors and hoaxes. The web site has more than a dozen entries on the hoax including variations that target Wal-Mart stores in Florida and Georgia.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office issued this news release:
“St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara in conjunction with Port St. Lucie Police Chief Shinnamon and Fort Pierce Police Chief Baldwin would like to inform the public that all three agencies have received calls concerning a possible gang initiation which would target female associates of Wal-Mart as possible victims of homicide. Currently, there has been no information uncovered to validate the allegations. However, all three agencies will continue to work with all Wal-Marts stores within St. Lucie County to ensure the safety of all.”
In any case, women are always a target and should never let their guard down. If you don’t have a weapon ie; pepper spray, tazer, knife, nail file, stiletto pumps, etc. then you should definitely consider some form of protection for yourself.
I’ve been in Southern California for 8 years and have been randomly attacked 3 times. Due to my background in Tae Kwon Doe, Boxing and Kick boxing I was able to respond quickly and get away. Yes, I do carry a knife and yes, I will use it if a situation presents itself with no other option.
