Being Socially It, you know I was at one of the VMA’s hottest after parties! Up above is yours truly (Anita), Jamel Mitchell aka Shout (tha man), and Brian of Hip Hop Golf Gear. This VMA after party was the Pepsi Blue Carpet Bash! There was a live performance by Keri Hilson.

The Pepsi Blue Carpet Bash was held at Avalon in Hollywood, CA. Outisde they had the blue carpet set up next to the back drop with the paparazzi photographer people snapping photos of everyone who walked the blue carpet. I was accompanied by Brian (who owns Hip Hop Golf Gear) and his friend Jennifer. Here they are below …

I am very glad that I came to this party (I almost did not go). I had a really good time. Most of the night I networked in the VIP section. Not just anyone could be in the VIP section though. You had to have a wrist band. Regular attendees did not get wrist bands. They just go to go into the club. VIP was for industry people and for people who worked for Pepsi. Actually, there were a few VIP sections and they had a press room set up for all the celebrities. You may be asking yourself how I got in to one of the exclusive VIP sections. Well, I am “socially it” … HELLO? LOL!

The perks of being VIP that night were nice. They had an open bar for us (sponsored by 10k Rum) and they also had waiters and waitresses walking around with little platters of food. They were serving crab cakes (that were so delicious), tiny cheesburgers, mini quesadillas, and these little pastry things filled with goat cheese, topped with sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil. Those were yummy too. They also served bite sized risotto with shiitake mushrooms on top. Ick! I do not like mushrooms, but it sure looked very good. I should have just taken the mushroom off and ate the risotto. Oh well.

There was one waiter in particular who was very nice and funny too. A lot of girls were flirting with him. He kind of reminds me of a young Matthew McConaughey. Check him out …

Pepsi had Xbox in the house. Xbox had their own little room where they had the game Madden 09 set up on one of he televisions. I played a little of it. I had no idea what I was doing either. They also had another new game called Rock Band set up on the other television. To top it off, they had these girls walking around with Zunes (mp3 player). They are new. I’m sure yall heard of it.

Fabulous was in the house, Jo Jo was and the guy from “That’s So Raven” ( I think Kyle Massey) was in the house too. I over heard that supposedly DJ Quick was in the house as well. My friend JB saw Warren G and Toastee from Flavor of Love. I read online that Aubrey of Danity Kane (and I think D. Woods) was in the house. There were other performances aside from Keri Hilson like DJ Irie and Ryan Leslie to name a few. I was so busy chattin it up the whole night that I missed many performances. It’s alright … I had a good time regardless. There were so many celebs there. All you have to do is Google the Pepsi Blue Carpet Bash at Avalon.

Something funny happened to me. I ended up with one of my cosmopolitans all over me. It was in my hair, in my eye (which started burning), and all over my tank top. LOL! I was walking down some stairs and OOPS!

There was this one VIP section where you had to have a white wrist band to get into. Well I had a blue one (until I turned it inside out and then it became white). Ha! So I got through but stupid JB did not take my advice and turn his inside out. They would not let him in. I walked back out with him. Later on he was off doing his thing and so I decided to go back to the white wrist band VIP section. I think that is where most of the celebs were. I walk in and the guy stops me. I showed him my band again. He grabbed my wrist and says, “This is a blue wrist band!” OH SHIT! LOL! I was like uh ok and walked away. LOL! Maybe other people were turning their bands inside out and they caught on. I think it was the same guy too who let me in earlier. I do not know how he knew, but oh well.

Pepsi was giving goody bags to the VIP guests. You had to turn in your wrist band for it though, so it would be best to have got the goody bag once you planned on leaving the event. That was my intentions, but I ended up forgetting. Pepsi was also walking around with a video camera and a Pepsi bottle. My friend JB and I (who met me there) got to hold on to the Pepsi bottle and give props out to Pepsi on their camera. If you were at home watching the VMA’s … you may have saw that after they had some coverage from this party I was at.
