Hey there Socially It kateers! Ha ha! It is my pleasure to introduce you all to Hershel Abram and his band. Lainie and I had the pleasure of listening to Hershel Abram and band mates at Buffalo Wings n Things/Hookah bar in West Los Angeles 12/06/08.

“Hershel had a great vibe! I thought it was hot how the sax player switched between the saxophone and flute. It added such a chill factor to the band. Hershel had a nice, laid back groove to him with a great look that I can see taking him very far. The whole band was good. There’s nothing like live music compared to a singer singing over a track.” Says Lainie J of Socially It.

I think it is cool for you all to know that I have known Hershel since high school. It is very wonderful to see him progress over the years into musical talent. Hershel and his band did not play for very long. Maybe like 10 minutes, or so. See … the band before him (Red Llama Dog), well they were playing for awhile and then around 9:00pm (when Red Llama Dog was still performing) the cops showed up to tell the owner of the place that the music had to be cut down because they were getting complaints from the near by residents. Can u believe that? Who complains about good music on a Saturday night?

Lainie had this to say about Red Llama Dog … “Red Llama Dog had a nice “ska” beat behind them. Their sound was great. It sounded a lot like Sublime, but with their own flair. They were a full band that rocked the house. One of my favorite parts was when the singer got on the bongos! He tore them up on that one song.”

Hershel Abram’s single “Rock Real Slow” has been on Blazin 98.9 FM for the last 2 months and he and the band have been creating a lot of industry buzz, along with building a fan base around the world through increasing digital sales. Hershel and his new band have been together since August of 2008 and they’re recording a new EP in 2009. Note: The old band was a studio band and were from LA. Hershel lives in San Diego, so it did not work out for the band and Hershel to play full time in San Diego. Of course Hershel and the new band do travel and play in other places besides San Diego.

Hershel and his band have a show coming up in January on the 10th at the Blue Cafe in Huntington Beach. I told Hershel about that venue. Hee hee, I had to throw that in!

Hershel’s wife Contessa performed as well (she’s a singer), but we did not make it in time to see her (she went on first). Boooo I know! Our bad. One day soon we will though and of course we will tell yall all about it.

Well in closing I want to let you readers know that I tried to get a hold of Red Llama Dog. No luck as of yet. I waited a couple days, but since I sent the note they have not logged in. If you actually take the time to check them out and find where their latest stuff is, well I tell ya it’ll be well worth it.
