The world-famous Los Angeles Leakers (DJ SourMilk & Just N Credible) of LA’s Power 106 FM radio station have teamed up with rising singer/songwriter Candice Pillay for a brand new mixtape release titled “SuperSonic Xtra-C.”
Featuring the combined talents of the Leakers extensive years as DJ’s along with Candice’s multiple musical gifts, the mixtape showcases a futuristic sound over some of today’s hottest hits revisited by producer Dem Jointz. With 13 new tracks and a signature sound built around a female superhero theme, “SuperSonic Xtra-C” is the latest step in solidifying Candice and her movement.
Born in South Africa and of East Indian descent, Candice has been a musician since her early childhood, when she learned to play guitar and the piano. Soon thereafter she began to compose music and quickly realized the beginning to a lifelong dream. Her first solo music release was with New York’s DJ Kay Slay and she has been featured in several publications across the world, including a recent feature in the UK’s powerhouse music and fashion magazine Asiana. The new project has already garnered heavy interest and received radio play during DJ Felli Fel’s show on Power 106.
The LA Leakers have been a presence on both the radio and DJ scenes for years, working their way up paying dues in clubs, smaller stations, hosting mixtapes and ultimately becoming fixtures in LA’s mega station Power 106. Before this project with Candice, they most recently released mixtapes with Los Angeles MC Murs and the Wu-Tang’s Raekwon.
