Republic – London Moore Fashion Show

Another red carpet picture. Here we have Socially “It” girl Michelle, her cousin April, and moi … Anita of Socially It (right) @ Republic. This night of September 13, 2008 London Moore hosted a fashion show, unfortunately we were not able to see it.

So why you might be asking yourself? The answer is before arriving at Republic we attended the 2nd Street Skill Fest @ the 2nd Street Jazz Club. We went there to see Q aka Convinced perform, but it started to get late and Q had not gone on yet. It’s all good though, because Lainie stayed to cover the show while Michelle, April, and I went over to Republic.

So yeah, we missed the fashion show (booo), but got there in plenty of time to enjoy the after party. The night here started out CRAZY! As soon as we were entering in the doorway a fight broke out inside. We were able to see it because on the inside where it was happening, well … the wall was glass. There were guys flying around everywhere. The glass wall that we were watching this through is also a door. One of the bouncers outside went dashing across the rocky gravel and opened the glass door to help out by escorting one of the trouble makers outside. Guess he had an early night. Ha! The girls and I were looking at each other like uh … should we go in still? It was barely pushing midnight and we were not ready to call it a night yet, so we proceeded (straight to the bar)!

Being on the inside was fabulous. There were beautiful models walking around and the club goers were looking good too. I’ve been to Republic before, but the other two times they had the outside back patio of the venue as the club. This time I got to experience the inside part of it. Third times a charm I guess.

So like two minutes after getting inside, the DJ announces there’s five more minutes until the fifteen minute open bar deal is over. How cool is that right? The girls ordered their drinks, but I was taken care of. My friend JB who beat us there had already utilized the open bar special and was double fisted with Long Islands, so I had one of his … and “no” … he did not drink from it (eww). It was fresh! He had just got them.

Business minded I started to network before hitting the dance floor. Speaking of dancing … check out this guy!

After the fashion show they still had the cat walk up in the middle of the dance floor. This guy (I call him stripper dude), well he gets up on the cat walk and starts dancing. He was funny and entertaining, however more guys than girls had their eyes on him. Uhh? Lol.

A lot of people were mad cool this night, but there were a couple of weirdos (like this guy) …

He was cool and all, but weird. Him and his friends followed us around the club before coming up to us. That’s stalker status!!! It didn’t help that you cannot see his eyes either.

So people … you’re never going to guess what happened next. FIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! Yep! Another fight! WOW! I could not believe it and guess what yall? Both fights … no Black or Hispanic people were involved. LOL! Yes I said it. Unfortunately when fights happen at clubs, there is a prejudice that it must have been started buy a Black or Hispanic person.

I was trying to get a picture, but I could not get my purse open fast enough to get the camera. I did get a picture of a bouncer escorting some Asian guy out who was involved in the fight.

Ok … so it’s not the best picture, but can I still get an E for effort?

One of the cool parts of the night for me was being able to meet London Moore. He approached April and was conversing with her for awhile. We were invited to the after party, but did not make it there. If you do not know about London Moore and you like to surf the net check out the link below …
