My Q&A session with Owner Marc Watts
LAINIE: I know that the location is not to be revealed until the launch but can you tell me if Club renew is located on the strip?
MARC: I can’t make any statements about the location of the club until we launch our web site on the 19th. However, I can tell you it will be like nothing you’ve ever seen.
LAINIE: Will you have special guest DJ’s?
MARC: We will, but that’s about all I can tell you.
LAINIE: What makes club Renew different than any other club in Vegas?
MARC: Positivity. I think positivity is something that’s really lacking in the Vegas club scene. You’ve got all these clubs that make you wait in ridiculous lines for hours and hours before they make you pay these stupid cover charges. Then once you’re inside you’re just a number. No one comes up and asks how you’re doing. They just want to make sure you have a bracelet on your wrist and a drink in your hand. I think we need to bring compassion back to the nightclub. Right now Vegas club owners are too focused on creating beautiful buildings and instead of creating beautiful atmospheres. Club Renew will have both.
LAINIE: Will there be different music played on different nights? If so what type?
MARC: Right now we’re planning on playing club and dance music. We might play Hip-Hop 1-2 nights a week if we feel there’s enough demand. Honestly, I’d play just about anything if enough people want it. That’s the beauty of Renew, we’re the people’s nightclub.
LAINIE: Will there be special performances ever?
MARC: There will be. I can tell you we have one scheduled for opening week. Just check the “events” page when we launch the site.
LAINIE: How many rooms are there?
MARC: No Comment.
LAINIE: Can you describe the decor for us?
MARC: The decor is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. When we first started designing the club, I wanted it to feel very open to reflect our philosophy. Nothing is off-limits. You can basically go whereever you want, which is how I feel it should be.
LAINIE: What time will the club close? I know its Vegas!
MARC: I can’t disclose specifics, but I can tell you we will keep standard “nightclub hours.”
LAINIE: Will Club Renew be opened every night?
MARC: All I can say is that we’ll be open every night from the 22-28. You’ll have to check the web site on the 19th to learn more.
LAINIE: Is there a dress code?
MARC: Absolutely not. We don’t believe in excluding people based on appearance. Again this is the “people’s nightclub,” not the “certain people’s nightclub.”
