Can Cell Phones Cause Acne?

I had to write on this subject, because I recently had another breakout in the same place that I had before (not as bad as the girl above … lol). The last time this happened it was around my chin and mouth area on the right side and well it happened in the same place this time too. My sister who is a makeup artist pointed out that maybe it was my cell phone; that our cell phones are so dirty and full of oil and bacteria that they cause us to break out. She told me to not press the phone up right on my face and it will go away. It did go away, but …

HOLY COW it happened again, but this time I have the Sprint Instinct phone (looks like the iphone) and it has a wide screen and that’s all, so i guess by me holding it up on my face talking I am just rubbing bacteria and dirty oil all into my face … gross! I have included a few reports about this gross occurrence, so that maybe you will learn from my lesson and keep your pretty skin nice and clear.

From www.voip-news.com/blog:
The condition:
According to microbiologists from England’s Manchester Metropolitan University, your cell phone is home to more bacteria than your toilet seat — bacteria that can cause very serious illnesses such as pneumonia and meningitis. In most cases though a visit from the acne fairy is the worst it gets.

How to prevent or cure it: “If you’re prone to breakouts, don’t press the phone to your skin,” advises New York Dermatology Group founder Dr. David Colbert. “Wear an earpiece [or headset] if you can, or use a gentle cleanser on the phone before using it.”

Make sure you clean your phone off before you start putting it back on your face. This company offeres anti bacterial wipes for your wireless toys. http://www.wirelesswipes.com/
